Led by PASE's Department Head of Internal Medicine, this virtual, RACE-approved CE will be one hour. In this lecture we will discuss the approach to the diagnosis and management of proteinuria in cats and dogs. Key elements of the patient’s history, important physical examination findings, diagnostic testing and medical management in the primary care setting will be discussed, along with guidelines for referral for specialty care. The focus of this lecture will be the recognition of and management of patients with proteinuria. We will also describe instances where the primary care veterinarian and internist can work collaboratively for the management of the more challenging cases.
