Lillie Davis, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology)

Oncology

Dr. Lillie Davis is a board-certified veterinary oncologist and a native of the Bronx, New York. She is a three-time, first-generation Ivy League graduate and one of only a small number of Black veterinary oncologists within the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM).

From a young age, Dr. Davis was driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, ultimately setting her sights on veterinary medicine. She fulfilled her goal of attending Cornell University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2009 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. During her time at Cornell, she spent eight years conducting research in a parasitology laboratory and published her first scientific paper, Cuterebra, on parasites in cats.

She went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 2015 before returning to Cornell to pursue a three-year residency in medical oncology, which she completed in 2018. During her residency, she published additional research on acute myeloid leukemia in dogs. That same year, she achieved board certification in oncology through the ACVIM.

Dr. Davis is deeply committed to strengthening the human–animal bond and prioritizing quality of life for her patients. Her approach to oncology care blends evidence-based medicine with compassion, honesty, and thoughtful communication, helping pet owners navigate complex decisions with clarity and support.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with her partner, her daughter, and her two orange tabby cats.
