Mica Cosentino

Critical Care Coordinator


Mica hails from New Jersey and lives in West Philadelphia. He has worked with animals for many years, holding positions in shelter and rescue environments prior to working in both general practice and urgent care hospitals. He enjoys utilizing his skillset to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and to provide clear, empathetic communication to pet guardians in times of stress. Over the years, he has developed special interests in fear-free handling, behavior, and palliative care. Mica holds a certification as a Certified Dog Trainer from the CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, a certification as a Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula from the University of Vermont, and an additional certification in Thanabotany from the School of American Thanatology. He is always looking to expand his horizons, and has his eye on obtaining a Fear-Free Veterinary Professional certification. In his free time, Mica enjoys spending time with his partner and friends, cooking vegan meals, practicing archery, and snuggling with his giant pitbull Bread and fluffy feline menace Aphrodite.
