Beryl Swanson, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology) is a board-certified veterinary neurologist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology at the University of Washington, with departmental honors. She then worked for 2 years as a data analyst at the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle Washington. She went to veterinary school at Washington State University where she earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in Norwalk, Connecticut. Dr. Swanson then moved to New York City to complete her Residency in Neurology at The Animal Medical Center, alongside many other PASE specialists. She received her board certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in 2019.

Dr. Swanson headed back home to the west coast after residency and worked in private practice for 4 years, but she could not pass up the opportunity to move to Philadelphia to work with her east coast friends and colleagues. She loves all aspects of veterinary neurology, but has a particular interest in immune-mediated central nervous system diseases.

Outside of work, Dr. Swanson loves tending to her rooftop garden and cooking for her family and friends. She shares her home with her partner, Austin, and 3 cats, all acquired during residency – Regular Cat, Bling, and Doug.
