Libby Martin, DVM

Emergency Medicine

Dr. Libby Martin grew up in the small town of California, Missouri, where her family raises beef cattle on a generational farm. From a young age, she was deeply involved in farm life, agriculture, and FFA. With many of her family members serving as agriculture educators, it was this background that first sparked her interest in veterinary medicine. She began volunteering at a local veterinary clinic in the 7th grade and has fond memories of caring for the many pets she raised as a child, including cats, dogs, chickens, lambs, goats, and bottle calves. Early on, she recognized the vital role veterinarians play not only in animal health but also in agriculture, and she has pursued this calling ever since.

Dr. Martin attended the University of Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with minors in Entrepreneurship and Agricultural Leadership. During her academic career, she was recognized as a Hagan Scholar and inducted into the prestigious Omicron Delta Kappa Society. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received the Merck Animal Health Innovation Award for her research and development of novel technology in the beef production sector.

Since beginning her career, Dr. Martin has gained experience in general practice, urgent care, and in-home end-of-life care. She has developed special interests in surgery, end-of-life care, and emergency medicine. She especially values educating and spending time with clients to help them better understand veterinary medicine and their pets’ needs.

Outside of work, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with her two rescue tabby cats, Alvin and Lionel. She also loves being outdoors and on the water, fishing, watching NFL football, and exploring new foods and drinks.
